€27,999.00
First released in 1992, the Yacht-Master is a more luxurious option for those looking for a
water-proof sports watch with a nautical design. Billed as a luxury sport watch, the
Yacht-Master offers 100m water resistance and a rotating timing bezel, with the high-end
finishing seen on more formal models. The Yacht-Master’s design shares much with the
Submariner - dot and baton hour markers, rotating bezel with scale and oyster case -
but moves closer to the higher finishing of the Daytona, with polished cases and centre
links in the bracelet. Early Yacht-Master models were available in two sizes, with further
sizes and materials being added as the model gained popularity. The most recent design
innovation in the Yacht-Master came in 2015 with the introduction of the Oysterflex band;
a rubber composite that allows for increased comfort and durability, whilst giving the watch
a more practical sporty look. The bi-directional bezel on the Yachtmaster is used to
synchronize the start times of a Regatta. To do this, the wearer simply needs to align the
zero position of the bezel to the minute hand and then use the 10-minute dashes to count down
to the race start time. The bezel can also be used in the same way to measure elapsed time
up to one hour.
